I have noticed recently while I wonder aimlessly around book shops looking for interesting novels of little interest that there is a increase in the number of 'My parents neglected me and yet abuse me as a child.' books.
I suppose I am touching on, for some people, a sensitive subject for many people but it's something that's nagging me.
About 2 years ago one such book called "A Boy Called It." was a best seller about the struggles a young boy had to suffer from his mother and older brothers. It was a type of book that was relativly new in how open it was and was a talk about talks among a few people in my Yr.10 english class. I give credit to that man for revealing his childhood trauma's to the world and I suppose for a lot of people going through abuse its some form of comfort because this man survived to have a family and lived through his horrors.
Well it seems that this form of encouragment went too far. Now there a child abuse books everywhere. Ones about how they were sold to a nunnery and sexually abused, one about how a black mother told her daughter she was ugly...
In my cold dark eyes (well my eyes aren't that dark - but still..) to me it almost seems as if this is a new get-rich-quick scheme. One man succeeded and now everyone else is out to publish a book on their traumatic childhood in hopes of getting moneny from it. I wonder if half the stories are true...Their parents could have passed on so they published a book about how cold they were and no one would know the difference >.>
<.<
Now I may be totally, utterly and completly wrong about this - maybe people just feel that they want to express horrors and show us all that children must unite in their struggle against the abusive adults!! *gets out pitchfork*

No one will suspect the Spanish Inquisition >.>
I managed to loan a book form the library with a little bit about the Spanish Inquisition in it today. Huzzah!
Now I know nothing on the Spanish Inquisition really - but if i am going to do it for history it makes sense to do some reading on it and I was amazed to find out that the whole reason the inquisition was created was to get rid of Jews that had jobs in the royal administration and church.
As you all know Jews have been out casted and fought against for centuries.
During the 14th Century, in Spain, a hundred years before the inquisition was created, tension against the Jews was reaching a high where hundreds if not thousands of Jews were murdered. They were offered to convert to Christianity or die. Of course many converted and they were then named as 'converso.' They were mistrusted and disliked as many suspected them of practicing Judaism in secret. Despite this, as I said, many rose to high places of power.
Longgg story short - a hundred years later in the reign of Kind Ferdinand and Queen Isabelle at the throne the hatred of the Jews grew to a new level. Queen Isabelle did not mind Jews because she had many royal advisers who were Jews but of course, in these tales there is a man who works to manipulate the throne.
This man was Torquemada - the to-be leader of the Inquisition and hater of the Jews and heretics.
Torquemada did all he could to persuade the Queen to take action against the 'covnerso's'. Many high status Catholic Bishops were annoyed at how these people got such decent jobs. The Queen was well against it until news reached her that several Converso's had been practicing Judaism in a holy holiday and she was also a hater of heretics.
Long story short again: She gave Torquemada power to get rid of all heretics in the country. The Spanish Inquisition lasted for about 300 years but Torquemada did more in the years he was in power than the Inquisition ever did for the next 300 years. He tortured, killed and drove out over 300,000 Jews and heretics. Even innocent people were killed as they confessed to whatever crimes were against them to be rid of the torture.
He eradicated all Jews from Spain.
My point is this: This man did the same thing as Hitler. His hatred was irrational and very unreasonable. He's ways of getting rid of Jews were not as efficient as Hitler's but the idea was the same. And yet Hitler is the only one known and discredited for doing so.
I only happened across this information because of a Monty Python sketch- if I had never got into Monty Python I would never know this information and undoubtedly millions of other students may never know this man named Torquemada.
My frustration comes from the fact we all hate and despise Hitler for what he did - many refuse to believe in the holocaust and don't get me wrong I do believe entirely it was a terrible horrific thing and should never happened again - but there are people who don't seem to realise this happened all before.
We hate Hitler because he came up with the Final Solution but Torquemada had a similar ideal and yet he is almost unknown to high school students. Why should we have to realise how bad Hitler was if we do not realise how bad this man was as well? They are two of the same and if we have memorials for the holocaust why not for what Torquemada did.
300,000 Jews lie forgotten somewhere in history after suffering horrendous pain and yet we are only taught to see what the Nazi's did.
If I ask a 14 year old child if they know about what The Spanish Inquisition did I am certain my reply would be, "I don't know." And it annoys me that whoever makes our school curriculum (government?) leads kids to believe Hitler was the only man with a hate towards Jews.

The truth about European history..
The truth is there is no European history except for the Nazi regime and maybe Stalin && The Romanov's.
Why do I say this?
Because if I was a little kid who is as gullible as a sponge and I walked to my local library in Redditch then that's what I would find. I would then proceed to spend the next several years in a ignorant form of bliss where the only European history would be Nazi's, Romanov's, Stalin && a little bit about Italian Fascism.
My rude awakening would be when I go to a better library somewhere else and find a lot more stuff or when my history teacher stared at me and said something along the lines of "You Fascist!" Then proceeds to lecture me on how fascism is wrong.
And this form of rant comes from the fact that yesterday at about half 11 I found myself at the Redditch Library looking at European History. I have history coursework in the near future on a topic of my choice as long as I can find a suitable question. I was steered well clear of Nazi previously and so I ventured in search of a new topic and for some reason I found myself pondering the idea of doing the Spanish Inquisition - no idea why but the Monty Python sketch happened to pop into my head one day.
And so I thought: "Well I know bugger all about it and I'd better do some background reading."
And so I had half an hour before meeting Amy and so I thought I'll browse the library. Originally I was looking for a book on photography but I found a book about 'The Most Evil People In History.' Of which the head of the Spanish Inquisition was mentioned - in fact he had a whole little section to himself.
Seeing as said book had little information altogether, I wandered to the European History section. Assuming Spain was in Europe and was a part of history I expected to find at least one thing about it.
Alas I was very, very, very wrong. If this had been situation was trying to find a cure for mad cow disease I'd have sent the whole world mad.
All I saw in this section was:
Several books on Hitler
Several more books on the Nazi regime
Several more books on how the Nazi Regime came to power
Several REALLY thick books on Nazism && Hitler together!
Stalin
Communism
Several books on the Romanov's
Several books on the plan to save the Romanov's
One book about Tudor King && Queens
One book about the Spanish civil war
And
A lot about Redditch history (Why is that in European history? Shouldn't it be in local history?).
Alex was
1) Not happy at all.
2) Confused.
3) Bored.
Why do people assume the only thing that happened in Europe since Europe was established to now was the Nazi's and Communism and the Romanov's (oh and Redditch)?! There were a few books on other things but they were tiny thin things compared to the 1000+ paged Hitler books that smothered almost every self!!
Why?!
Yes it was horrific, yes people died, yes Jews were picked on but Jews were picked on during the Black Plague as well - but no one writes a book about that do they?!
And a man named Dracula (real man y'know) killed hundreds of people and shoved their heads on stakes but nnoo one writes about that do they considering he's considered one of the most evil men in history along with Hitler && Stalin!
I mean come on people! If I want to find out about Nazi's I'd read my dad's flipping book!
They'll be publishing the works of Hitler's failed art next and putting that on the European history self.
I prefer to read books rather than read off the internet because the internet is often boring to read off and I get distracted by various other sites and now I have to trail to another library, sit in Waterstones fora good hour or so reading a book I can't afford to buy OR write a letter of complaint.
The latter being the easiest yet most annoying (for the library staff not me).

Photography for beginners.
So today me && Amy && My brother went on a adventure! An adventure around town with a camera! *dramatic music* My major aim was to try and give myself a new hobby (hence the photography part) and give me some more interesting stuff to edit and so in the end I can show it all off in the internet. Out of the hell knows how many pics I took over the day I've only edited about 5 - 3 of which I am putting into one pic later on and 2 others which I've uploaded already. Morbidly both pics were taken in a graveyard....because it's cool. And ever since a Dr.Who episode that involved stone angels I've been interested in getting shots of them (Yes it was a good episode for those who think "Dr.Who...? Oh that's rubbish! You should watch Big Brother!" and so there *pokes*).
I only did mild editing like making it brighter and more clearer and thats all I intend to do. I'm not going to go voer the top with spirals and twirls and magical mouses with frogs legs (wha..?).
So Yes here are my two favs so far that I am very proud of:
(Click pic for better view. They are too big for the blog to show all of the shot)

Ok so I am no expert but I do quite like the above pics. No matter what any of ye fools say!!

Tesco's Have No Conscience!!
My blog can't just consist of my silly troubled teenage thoughts and angst's. That would be boring. So for once I'll add in my more extremer ideals. This one being: Tesco's have no conscience. Tesco's are always been picked on and if we're not picking on Tesco's then it's Virgin. And why? Well because they're such big Corporate Corporations with millions of 'Corporate Slaves'. With so many theories on our impending d00m (all ending with Tesco's && Virgin battling it out for Britain) they're just asking to have the mickey taken out of them.
So why does Tesco's have no conscience?
Several reasons why:
1) Their orange juice leaves much to be desired. All those oranges suffered to leave me with this terrible drink (hence I drink it anyway becase my mouth is very dry...).
2) It's capitalist (extremely) and thus cares only for profit.
3) Because me && Teacherman said so.
All this deep thought makes my back ache.

Battle of the sexes
I'm on a roll with posting today.
To my point though.
Let's start from the beginning.
God made two sexes or if you're an atheist then evolution made two sexes. Male && Female. Each with a area in their own expertise. Men are strong and can fight lions and small bears while woman have hips used to seduce men and then get stuck with kitchen work.
Now I am not the type of woman who says "Women's place is in the kitchen." because it isn't. I believe in equality between sexes in the sense that if men can run a business women should be able to as well. But one thing that comes to my mind and often makes me sway back to the ye olde thinking is the physical traits of us. Men are physically stronger. I don't care what any feminist says, it's true. There's accepting the truth and then there's being stupid. Men are stronger and women are more nurturing. Why else would women be so romantic and sensitive if they weren't meant to love and nurture? It's here when I start to think "Yes - women can go out, have a career and have a life but they are also meant to bring up children."
And it's here when I think that in the middle of this fight for equality have equal rights have we really forgotten what's important? Women are striving so much to be independent that maybe they are starting to fail where they exceed the most. Bringing up children. Yes children need a male role model too - specially boys so fathers are needed as well in this argument (In fact I feel that without a wholesome family children are more prone to psychological problems but let's not go into that).
But in all this fighting and feminism and sexism have we forgotten that after us a whole new generation has to take over and if they aren't of some form of stable mind because their moms are career women and their dads are off competing with them trying to be better - well...I say no more.
There are several smaller arguments tied into this major one. One is the undying belief from men that they are alpha. I often go on a forum called Gaia Online and the amount of sexism you can come across is amazing for a PG-13 forum. Boys all over that site go on about how they are better than women, how women are only used for sex and how girlfriends are forced to join in sexual activity (the latter was what inspired this actually). And Ok so most of them are meant in jest but it's this type of male down-lookage that makes women want to do better - want to strive to do better and then we forget our basic and foremost important tasks. And it's this type of behaviour that makes younger boys think it's alright to use women and that they're meaningless. I know not all men are like this - I've met several who can be romantics (one is a major romantic as well).
And so this battle goes on - with women trying to prove they are just as good as men. And then people become blind to the simplest of facts - the stuff that's right in front of our eyes the fact that men are women are not equal. We are built for different jobs - you can't make a car float on water because it's not made for that and in the same way you can't make men have kids and you can't make women be as physically strong.
Now there are the times when this is proven wrong - I do say.
And I am not saying that women are only meant to stay in the house. I do not believe that at all. I do think women can go out and get jobs and run business like men!
But my point is that the basics principles of our anatomy and our general temperaments are being ignored because of this fight to see who is superior. We are forgetting who we are and what we are meant for originally.
My second point is: Evolution is God in disguise

All journeys have a begginning and this is mine.
Well as a official blogger now I suppose I should do the usual introduce myself and my life and explain to you life-puzzled people how I work and how my brain ticks.
Well for a start my brain does not 'tick' so to speak for I am not actually a machine/artificial creation that ticks and neither am I a clock and so seeing as my brain is made up of muscle, neurons, nerves, blood && many other things that are totally natural (almost) I can't really tick. Of course if you shoved a clock up my nose I may tick, although that would be my nose ticking not my brain and it would hurt greatly so don't try it. Any other option would be to carry out a dangerous procedure of inserting a clock into my head while I am unconscious and that would most likely kill me due to a infection completely related to the unsanitary condition of said clock.
And so we come to a thus conclusion - my brain does not tick.
Well that's one thing you've learnt about me.
The second thing you should learn about me is I am a girl of 17 years of age (wait that's two things). I do not participate in any way to distorted sex so sorry pedo's your reading this so far has totally wasted about 15 seconds of your life. Not to say I'm not happy about that - because I am! For the 15 seconds you wasted on me stopped you from ruining a young child's life. I am, in many ways, a heroine.
OK - more facts about me. I'm short. And that's totallyyy interesting.
My political viewpoint is very communist according to a political compass test a certain teacher told me to take and I am somewhere stationed near Gandhi. But since I am not Indian nor bald I can't say we have much else in common. Either way I intend to join a communist party when I join uni just to see if it's any good and if it isn't I'll make my own - and invite the said teacher who is also a communist and sent me a e-card for my birthday with reggae frogs (not sure if they were communist though - but being reggae I am assuming they are 'black' frogs or as black as frogs can be and so I assume they feel strongly about their rights - or as strongly as a e-card can feel).
But onwards!!
I live in England in a town call Redditch. Many call it 'The Ditch' coz they feel it is crap and in many cases it can be but its close to the countryside so I'm not going to complain. It has its own hospital, 3 prisons (although technically they're classed as Bromsgrove....another town btw) and its own shopping center with cinema. It has several bars, pubs && clubs and a lake. Wow. Well isn't that great?!
I have 2 parents and 1 brother. So I live in a relatively normal family - but then what do you class as 'normal' for if my mother thinks my bro was conceived by aliens then well - it's not that normal is it.
Well I think that will do for a 1st post. I mean who wants me to witter on forever? (Stalkers maybe...)
I'll come back on some latter date to attempt to update this (emphasis on 'attempt' for often I have little to talk about - you'd never guess from the above crap I just written would you?).
So until next time...
